Morning Buzz 4/12: News from the 62nd Legislature

Gov. Brian Schweitzer sent a letter inquiring about a state government shutdown on Monday as the Legislature endorsed the GOP budget. Charles Johnson, of the Lee State Bureau, reported on the letter to Attorney General Steve Bullock, and Mike Dennison, of the bureau, covered the budget.

Johnson also gave brief reports on the passage of a bonding bill for new state buildings and an update on campaign spending. He also covered the House’s endorsement of the last medical marijuana reform bill.

Associated Press writer Stephen Dockery also wrote about the pot bill.

Dennison wrote about the death of a measure to clarify eminent domain law and affirm that utility companies can take private land.
